Description

A wondrous vegetable is mogri/sengri or green radish pods.  It has a unique taste, which is so enjoyable that you can make a delicious dish with it.  The Mogri Aaloo Masala is indeed very easy and quick to make, and is a must-have during the winter months and goes best with Roti and Raita .

Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 2 cups stringed and chopped green radish pods (mogri/sengri)


  • 2 medium potatoes chopped


  • 1 teaspoon mustard oil


  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin /jeera


  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida/hing


  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste


  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander (dhania) powder


  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric /haldi powder


  • 1/4 th teaspoon Everest red chilli powder


  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste


  • 1 teaspoon Everest sabji masala


  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mango /amchur powder


  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala


  • 1 teaspoon coriander leaves for the garnish

Directions

  • Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, splutter the cumin seeds and asafoetida.
  • When the seeds crackle, add the coriander powder, red chilli powder turmeric powder, everest sabji masala
  • Add the cubed potatoes and chopped mogri.
  • Add salt and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes to coat the masala well.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of water and cover with a lid on a low flame for 5 minutes.
  • Keep turning occasionally.
  • When cooked add dry mango powder and garam masala.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot immediately with roti and raita.
